Welcome to the website of “The Colour Spectrum”. The ‘Agenda Rock’ band formed in 2015 while they were students at a College of Further Education in Kent where they were studying Music Composition and Performance. This website promotes their first EP which they released independently. The first pressing of the physical CDs quickly sold out and there are plans for a second pressing. In the meantime, below you can find streaming links to the songs while the band work on completing their first album.
For more information about The Colour Spectrum, the band’s story and their backgrounds, you are invited to follow the link below to order a copy of the first novel in a trilogy, “HELLO HAMMERSMITH!” In this book, friend of the band Tim O’Shaughnessy relates the story of Jackson Stanford, one of the band’s songwriters and vocalists. The book also delves back into the long forgotten story of Stanford, the synth-pop band formed by Jackson’s parents, Gerry and Bernie Stanford in the 1980s.
The first 200 copies ordered from this website come with a special limited edition EP and bookmark.
The second book in the trilogy is entitled “WHAT’SUP WEMBLEY?” You can sign up for bonus stories about the characters and local events.
Gerry and Bernie Stanford are preparing for a 2003 reunion concert at the Carling Apollo in Hammersmith. The synth-pop band that bears their name and was ‘big in the '80s’ is about to release a new hits collection after years in the wilderness following their enforced retirement from the music business.
As their story moves backwards towards their glory days, their son Jack’s story moves forwards. With a new identity after a traumatic childhood, he finds himself drawn to follow in his parents’ footsteps through the murky morass of today’s music business. Characters that either helped or hindered his parents in their career make their presence felt on his journey. Can Jack achieve the goal that eluded his parents, or will the shadowy figures that still seem hell-bent on revenge get the satisfaction they crave?
